30 in 30. September 1st, 2016

Welcome to day 1 of September's 30 in 30.  As always, this 30 in 30 is hosted by Leslie Saeta. (Thanks Leslie.) I'm writing my blog much later than usual because today I was out celebrating my daughter's birthday. It is just now at 11:15pm that I am slowing down and have time to make today's post. It seems like that was my theme for the summer... busy.  But it was a wonderful summer. The Fall is starting to look just as busy.

Talking about themes...
Many people choose themes for their 30 in 30. I do not. There are so many things I want to paint and to do that a 30 in 30 seems like purging myself of all the projects and ideas that I have been putting off. So what do I want to accomplish this month? I'd like to have a series of 8 x 10's in alcohol inks ready to go as class ideas, smaller paintings that are more affordable for those who visit my booth during shows. I'd also like to explore a bit and try a few new things. I have four commissions to do this month and am hoping to work on those this month along with four new Drive Bys. We'll see.

I haven't tired of doing sunflowers yet. I love their cheerful brightness. They are one of my most popular classes. I never tire of sitting down and painting this painting. It's different each time.
