Day 9, January 30 in 30

Day 9, January 9th

30 in 30 hosted by Leslie Saeta.

Dahlias are one of my favorite
flowers in the garden.
I usually buy a flat of them and spread them around everywhere in my garden. This is one of the larger bulbs which produces much larger flowers.

I have asked to bring some art to the gift shop of one of the places I am teaching.
I will bring cards and prints and some originals but I am experimenting with these smaller pieces. I think they are easier for people to buy, not just because of the cost but a smaller size can fit in many more places. They even look good sitting in an easel on a table.

September 30 in 30, Day 24

Day 24

30 in 30 hosted by Leslie Saeta.

These lovelies are from my garden. This is a painting I was working on last June. I just couldn't figure out how to paint this. Then all of a sudden yesterday I knew what to do. Paintings are funny that way. You can't rush them. They are created when they are ready to exist.

I Am Carried Away

In the hallows of my mind you exist. A precious flower I ponder your loveliness.
A breath of fresh air. softly touching my lips
Blowing over me cooling
A lovely blossom full of promises
Whispering sweet words until I melt into you.
Finding solace in your presence
I am carried away.

Title This Painting.

This is the piece I have been working on to donate to the Holiday Artisan Show.
The proceeds go to the Rockford Rescue Mission.

What do you think I should title it? I did a similar painting for the 30 in 30 which I named Dahlias in Summer. Not too exciting. What do you think it should be called? Please leave me a comment.

Day 3, Dahlias in Summer

30 in 30 hosted by Leslie Saeta.

Dalhias in Summer

Watercolor and Pen on Arches watercolor paper

8" x 10", with mat 11" x 14"

$65.00

One of my favorite flowers to plant are dalhias. I buy them by the flat full. By the end of summer they are bushy and full and about the size of a mum. You can't beat it, and they last up until a hard frost. To purchase go to http://www.jillraefinallyart.com/30-in-30.php. Or hit the"Visit My Website" button on the right of this blog. At my web go "My Art" and hit "30 in30".

This is my first Pen and Watercolors. I saw some up North at the Artarama and couldn't wait to try it. Today was also my first day of painting at Katie's Cup in Rockford. What a blast! Some iced chai tea, Pandora radio and wonderful smells. I love meeting new people when they approach me with questions.

Come join me every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Amanda Janet's Dahlias

This is my newest painting that I was working on Up North. Amanda Janet is my goddaughter who I have had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful woman. I wasn't able to complete the second painting but I'm pleased with the six that will be in the gallery; Mark's Pears, Beth's Tulips, Terri's Crabtree, Nancy's Chives, Mary's Peonies and Amanda Janet's Dahlias. Four of these paintings are fairly new.

Museum quality, Giclee prints for most of these paintings are available on my webpage at http://www.jillraefinallyart.com/giclee-prints.php       Or just hit the "Purchase Prints" button to the right of my blog.
Sorry, Amanda Janet's Dahlias is not available yet.
